David Iglesias

David is an experienced, seasoned trial lawyer. He has tried numerous cases to juries in Federal and State Courts across Texas. David has also served as lead counsel of record in three cases before the United States Supreme Court, and as lead counsel of record in approximately 25 appeals to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

After graduating from law school, David began his legal career as a law clerk to United States District Judge Sam R. Cummings, who presided over the Lubbock, Abilene, and San Angelo Divisions of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

David Iglesias is a native East Texan who graduated from Austin College in Sherman, Texas, where he was a Hatton W. Sumners Scholar and was on the Dean’s List. David then attended Texas Tech University School of Law on a Dean’s Scholarship where he served as the Editor in Chief of The Texas Bank Lawyer, teaching fellow for a legal research and writing class, and research assistant to Professor Susan Saab Fortney.

At the Iglesias Law Firm, PLLC, David represents counties, law enforcement officers, elected officials, school districts and businesses in state and federal courts across Texas. He regularly litigates and tries cases involving employment matters and questions of constitutional law.

David has served on the boards of directors of UT Health Tyler, the East Texas Symphony Orchestra, Marvin United Methodist Church, the Literacy Council of Tyler, and the Children’s Advocacy Center of East Texas. Through his service on the board of directors of the Tyler Independent School District Foundation, David partners with other Hispanic community leaders to advance bilingual education. David is a member of the State Bar of Texas District Two Grievance Committee and serves on the editorial board of “The Bencher,” the American Inns of Court’s flagship publication.  David is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Hispanic Leadership Alliance and the Hispanic Republicans of Texas.  He founded and serves as the President of the Tyler Chapter of the Federalist Society, and serves on the executive committee of the Federalist Society’s Litigation Practice Group. David is married to Kate McMinn Iglesias and they are blessed with three sons and a daughter.
